PolishFestThe Capital District’s PolishFest is a celebration of Polish heritage – the food, music, art, language, customs and the culture of the Polish people. The annual Festival is held on the grounds of Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Church conveniently located at 250 Old Maxwell Rd., Latham, NY just off I-87.
The Festival features a vast array of favorite traditional Polish foods, including pierogi (stuffed dumplings), golabki (cabbage rolls), kielbasa (sausage), Bigos (hunter stew), Borscht (beet soup) and a huge assortment of gourmet Polish desserts lovingly prepared by our parishioners. Music and traditional Polish dances entertain festival-goers throughout the day. During the festival, visitors can tour our beautiful church and will be able to see our Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Polish Black Madonna, and learn of her 600 year old history as protector and defender of the Polish nation. PolishFest provides a safe and fun children’s area complete with games, face painting, kids’ snacks and other fun activities to keep the kids entertained. Inside our parish hall, visitors can enjoy a private dining area and Polish craft vendors. Our entire parish community extends an invitation for everyone to come and celebrate all things Polish with us – Zapraszamy! (We welcome you!) |
